Whistler's Cove Apartments

Moved in recently. Apartments are good size and reasonable prices. Wish soundproofing was better as conversations in lobby and hallways can be heard near and far. Nice community room with full kitchen. Look forward to more gatherings there. So far all the residents I've met have been very friendly and seem respectful of others. Love having washer and dryer in apartment. Wish there was more freedom to add a roller shade on balcony to block the summer sun. I'll have to find a tall potted plant to put out there so can use the balcony. Office hours advertised as 8-5 Monday thru Friday but office rarely open.

Pros: The apartments are very nice & this a good place for people 55 & up. Building is kept clean and secure. Affordable housing. Handicap accessible. Activities for residents. Cons: not related to the actual building itself but Melinda which is the manager of the building is rude(mount airy location), not friendly or personable. This place would be much better if they found a manager who was more personable and nice to the elderly residents & families. If you have any maintenance issues, Melinda will not as so much as call you back to let you know it is being looked into or the message was received. As I said before, nice place if they would replace Melinda with someone more fit to work with the public this place would be perfect! Maintenance man himself is very nice and willing to help.

My mother lives there and this morning during the storm her ceiling starts pouring water. Now she is 85 has trouble getting around but if I had not been there during this time to see the water coming from the ceiling and covered the kitchen floor within seconds she would have fallen then it took 6 phone calls to get someone and they did not have the experience to fix the building problem and it was bad I seen the pictures from the attic, water everywhere. Everyone you speak with has breathing issues, a mold inspector needs to be called and the building itself needs to be inspected by professionals. Yes it was nice at one time not so much anymore. I am looking for my mother a new place. They can go up on rent but never fix the problems.

I’ve lived at Whistlers Cove Apartments since they first opened in 2016. It’s a lovely place for those age 55 & up. We have monthly activities to include all residents. The apartments have a great floor plan. Shopping, gas stations, doctors, hospitals and more are very close by. I highly recommend this complex to anyone looking for a safe, affordable, attractive place to live.

I love the apartments from what I have seen from the outside. I love the fact you have to be buzzed in. If you're 55 or older they are very nice. You have to fill out application. I was told there is waiting list.Great location right beside the Hess station on 89.
