Washington Street Station Apartments

TL;DR: Not worth the headache I lived here for a little over a year while attending graduate school. After getting off the waitlist, I needed to secure housing quickly and was glad to find a place that was convenient and close to campus. During my time living here, there were some issues, but most were manageable. There is no management office on-site. The area can feel a bit sketchy at night due to its proximity to downtown and a nearby MAX station, with occasional yelling and frequent train noise. I only submitted a few maintenance requests, all of which were addressed promptly. One of the downsides was the gated doors never getting fixed during my time living there. Washington Street Station Apartments are nice-looking apartments. They have reasonably upgraded and modern-styled interiors. Management is nice and friendly. Rent is reasonably good.

Stay far away from this place! It will cause nothing but headache for you. I lived there from September 2023 until March 2025. I had nothing but bad experiences with the property management, ownership, and maintenance manager. I will explain my reasons below: 1. The property manager doesn’t return phone calls or emails in a timely manner. It takes several days to get a response from her and when you do, she doesn’t answer all of your questions. I don’t know how you can manage a property like this. 2. The owner of this place is currently trying to sell this property and has been for the past year. I did not live at Washington Street, but I had an in-person tour with Lona who was extremely kind and attentive to our email communication both while scheduling the tour, and following up afterward. Having spent 3 years living downtown and on the max line, Washington Street Station's location had the same vibe and crowd you can expect being in a downtown area near the max, but the convenience of the max outside your door and the access to restaurants and pubs is unparalleled. The apartment complex itself was well-secured with heavy metal locked doors which made me (a 20-something female) feel very safe. The units themselves were small but extremely stylish and updated. I appreciated that the community itself is small (only ~20 units) as opposed to the more factory-complex style housing

First the good: - Interiors are pretty new and upgraded - neighbors are mostly professionals and nice The bad: - yard doors are there to annoy you when you have to carry groceries in, but don't protect the inner yard from the between 5 and 10 cats that live on the property. If you love cats, great, if not beware!! Oh, and the same cats will rummage through the trash so real "cute" - there's no real management, and even if you're told so when you sign up, prepare to wait a few days before anybody acknowledges they received your maintenance request - property is located in a pretty shady area, prepare to hear drunk people scream in the middle of the night - there's a neighboring church that has some sort of social services every night of the week, prepare to see a lot of strange figures arou
