Van Buren Apartments Office

Great neighborhood, great neighbors. Wiring is not up to code. Expect to replace fuses in the kitchen often, as the wiring is not able to handle the power draw of a toaster, and refrigerator, or microwave and fridge simultaneously. When I moved here 3 years ago, we had 8 working washing machines and 8 working dryers. We now have one functioning washing machine and 3 functioning dryers. (When my roof had a leak, the roof got replaced really quick, but the internal damage to the paint/dry wall still hasn't been fixed going on 2 years later.) Apartment manager does not notify you in a timely manner for late fees, they will call you 3 months later, or slip a note under your door 3 months later cause they imported your contact information into their "system" incorrectly. Great first apartment! Me and my boyfriend lived here for 2 years. The 2 bedroom was a perfect size for us and our 2 cats. Some of the pros: great neighborhood, great price, maitnance and management respond quick, heat and hot water included! A few cons: a small stove, limited counter space, and we didn’t have the best luck with neighbors. But overall would recommend Van Buren apartments!

Good luck getting in touch with the apartment manager. Even though their hours are supposed to be 8-4, the manager told me 10-12. And even then, they aren't always in! Never returns phone calls. Letters regarding security deposit never sent/received. Since I have a job, I can't drive down to talk to the manager personally. I would be hesitant to recommend this apartment otherwise. The apartments themselves are nice and a good price, so it's a shame their manager is so unavailable and brusque!

Lived there for 3 years worst place ever to live ! Drunks for maintenance people and a landlord with a terrible attitude and has no care in the world to deal with anyone. Nothing ever got fixed and you can literally hear someone sneeze beside you or down below you . The area is a nice neighborhood and the apartments are nice to a degree but I wouldn't recommend living here with terrible management ! The landlord Michelle is a very mean and nasty person who refuses to change her attitude toward anyone

I have lived at Van Buren Apts for over 3 years. I really enjoyed my stay here because it was quiet and close to anything I could possibly want. I was extremely fortunate to have the best neighbors anyone could ever ask for. Evelyn and Tony were always friendly and helpful. Whenever I needed Maintenance they always came the first time I called and took care of any issues I might have. I would certainly consider living here again if the opportunity presented itself.
