I have been living here for about 8 months now and honestly it’s pretty average. We had to sign a lease two months early so we could be moved in on time for our orientation, which is fine, I was thankful for the ability to sign earlier but unfortunate that they couldn’t let us move in a week or two earlier. Immediately after moving in, management switched and you could tell. They immediately started doing renovations, and the team they brought it left paint all over the floors and even on some of our things (knife block, vacuum, comforter, etc.). The apartment is poorly built, as the heating had to be upped when a cold front hit because the insulation couldn’t keep the warmth in. By the windows and the door, you can feel the coldness from outside. We were told that the estimated electric b
I've lived at the villas for 4 years, and I feel compelled to leave a review to inform prospective residents of the real challenges living here under the new management. First and probably most importantly, the electric bill is insane. I'm talking $320+ PER PERSON. And this is with ONE other roommate and turning the heat down 66 except during times when heat needs to be higher to prevent (though this did not work) pipes from freezing. This cost has been going on FOR MONTHS. Some units are even higher. The apartment will tell you that this is due to West Power increasing their prices by 6% and cold temperatures. I'm sure this is a factor, but I have written evidence that the heating system (at least for my unit) has been leaking. They told us they ran a test with an empty unit to see how m
I have lived here for a few months and have really enjoyed it! I just went into the office and the new management is doing a lot to make it nice. They had the best little coffee bar and the people working were SO kind and gave my friend and I free sparking waters and candy. Everyone is really kind. The place is good and they have been doing renovations to make it nicer too! I’m excited to see what it all becomes. But anyways, whoever set up the nice coffee bar in the clubhouse office deserves a raise!
I don’t leave reviews just to complain. I expect fair treatment and honest communication, and right now that hasn’t been the experience. My daughter is a student at Penn State, and the last month has been extremely stressful. Contractors reportedly left a crawl space door open during extreme cold, which caused frozen pipes and made her unit unusable for about six days. During that time she had to walk across the complex in –15° weather just to use a bathroom, cook, or shower in an empty unit. Multiple calls went nowhere until I finally reached Joseph, a newer staff member, who was empathetic, professional, and actually helped connect me with the community manager. Joseph deserves recognition for how he handled the situation. He listened and treated us like people, not problems. Unfortun
WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THE VILLAS AT HAPPY VALLEY TO ANYONE! ONE OF THE WORST LIVING EXPERIENCES. Honestly words could not describe how terrible my experience has been living at the villas. Starting with my original move in, I entered my unit to it still being cleaned and my own room specifically not clean. The cleaning staff even told me they did not reach my room. Found trash between the wall and bed including a condom. Beyond the cleanliness, room C is almost unlivable and has no space but to walk to the bed, bathroom, and closet. The dryer in the common space never worked and they would come out and say it was solved when it was very obviously not. This happened a lot with maintenance requests, they would not be fixed but the villas would still make it completed even if no change had oc
