The Residences @159 Tinley Park

I stayed at The Residences @159 while visiting my sister-in-law who lives in the building. Overall, it was an okay experience with a mix of positives and negatives. The location is convenient, close to shopping, restaurants, and major roads, which made getting around easy. The building itself appeared generally well maintained, and the common areas were clean during my visit. Parking was also easy and accessible. However, every time I entered the building there was a very strong weed odor in the entryways and hallways. It was noticeable enough to be uncomfortable, and at times I honestly thought I might get a contact high from it. This really took away from the overall impression of the building. I’ve had a great experience living in this community. Any time an issue comes up, the new property manager, Asia, handles it promptly and follows up to ensure it was resolved properly. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the residents and the overall quality of the community. I’ve lived here for a little over 3 years and we’ve been through 3 property mangers since I’ve been here. She’s by far the only one that has stepped up and made the necessary changes. She has made a noticeable difference in the appearance of the property—removing dead trees, improving the landscaping, and truly transforming the surroundings. The community looks beautiful now! I come to the residence to visit my son and girlfriend often. The apartment is spacious. There are many issues with the apartment. The flooring is cheap and is like walking on paper plates. The kitchen sink is outdated. The sprayer on the sink has mold. She has a closet door that’s been missing for months. The maintenance people refuses to put it back on. You can’t control the heat in your unit yourself. As of today 1-19-26. My girlfriend called the management twice no answer. I called for her to talk with management about turning the heat up. Do to my one year old son being cold. They answered the first time I called. I asked knowing it’s an holiday, “Are you all open?” The management response was very unprofessional. And I quote her response was “Depends on what for.” With an attitude. I

Terrible neighbors. The neighbors and their visitors will damage your car if you park it in that lot. Get some great insurance. Cameras all over the place but I doubt that they’re recording a thing. The property manager and staff seem nice. They’re just a little unorganized. A million tenants vs 2 washers and 2 dryers. Just watched management replace the broken washers & dryers with more used, broken washers and dryers. Neighbors have loud, unruly, little dogs that get put out on the balcony to bark at the wind all day. Management provided a post with bags for dog owners to pick up and dispose of their dog’s feces, but the neighbors would rather leave it in the grass for you to step in. 😉

I have a friend living here and from what I’ve seen this place is extremely unprofessional and is infested with spiders and roaches. When these concerns were brought to building management they did not seem to care. They hired plumbers and the plumbers broke the shower head and did not bother to fix anything and left the bathroom a mess. When these contact information is of the property the owner was asked for they refused to give it and stated “it’s on the “website”. There is definitely something up with this place with all the problems going on and the lack of solutions given by the property managers or “corporate”. Don’t fall for this place! And it seems they pay the maintenance crew to write good reviews.
