The Armory Lofts

Roaches big enough to wear my size 12 shoes. Almost got robbed by one today. I think management feeds these things.

I loved living at the Armory! I lived there for 18 months while I finished my master's degree at Purdue and was more than pleased with my experience. Management and maintenance were fantastic - countless stories about how they went above and beyond my expectations. They were always available and friendly when I needed them. The building is secured and has video cameras and underground parking available. It's relatively quiet, but sometimes I could hear the people living above me. The only negative was the exercise facility - it's pretty bare on-site and there's no pool, but Hunter Lafayette properties allows you to use the facilities at their other apartment complexes in West Lafayette so that was nice! Definitely a great place to live.

My time in the Armory Loft apartments has been fantastic! The management team is nothing but respectful, and maintenance is quick to respond. They send out neat little newsletters each month, put on special programs for everyone living here, and are just in general committed to the happiness of residents. The whole complex is extremely secure and well kept up! The one bedroom apartment is full of charm with huge windows and wooden floors.

Giving two star because the non-disclosed fees that were never mentions upon signing the lease. One being that you would have to sign an intent to vacate 120 days (4 months) before lease is up. If you fail to fill out the intent to vacate form that you never receive unless you ask, you will be required to pay $28.63 per day. They wont mention this form until the deadline has past (in my case 9 days). Then expect you to pay the amount. I would not recommend living here. Property managers are too greedy and fine you for any little thing. The only reason I am giving two stars is because Kevin (the maintenance guy) is really friendly.

Stay away from this property. Stay away from the management company, Hunter Lafayette Properties. The property may seem good at the surface level, but dig a little deeper and it can be a real nightmare to stay there. Moving in and out of the place is a real chore. No elevators to the second floor and there really is no where to park a moving van without being in the middle of a funeral. They have some questionable business practices. I requested line-item bills and/or receipts and never received them saying that email correspondence is the official manner of communication. I want a date of the charge, a brief description of the charge, the amount due, and the due date. They did not provide any of that. There are hidden fees and gotchas all over their leases. The management is incompete
