The 6800 Apartments

The apartment at the 6800 was lovely and spacious; I had been very happy to find one available. My original plan was to stay at least 2 years. Although offered a lease renewal, I left end of my first year. I experienced very late night noise usually well past midnight daily. Heavily dropped items on the floor. Late night vacuuming. Heavy shoes back and forth on the bare floor above the bedroom. Children running around and screaming. Furniture moved from room to room banging as dropped. Tenants running back and forth across the entire apartment to patio and back—for hours. Once 6800 gets you in as a tenant, you no longer feel like a priority—at least that was my experience. One of the biggest issues I had was my blinds not being fixed for 7 months. Maintenance would come by on and off, but the problem was never resolved properly, and during that time, my unit had no blinds—leaving it exposed and compromising my privacy (see photo below). Despite this, I was still charged for the repair, which I have emails to prove. I also experienced a parking issue. I politely asked if my neighbor could adjust their parking since we both had large vehicles and it made getting in and out difficult. It's a nice place to live. I've lived here for about 4.5 years now. There's only 18 units so the building is very quiet and has a fairly secluded/peaceful feeling. Also I like how close the building is to the Topanga Mall / a lot of stores, pretty much anything I need is a short drive away. Having access to the Q Variel's amenities is a huge plus and one of the main reasons I chose this building over other new apartment buildings. The 10 foot ceilings are really nice and unique too, they make already large apartment units feel even more spacious. Diego, the building manager, is great. He's easy to talk to and I feel like he goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience here. I love the building, but mostly, I’m so happy with my leasing experience. Gretel was so amazing. She legit helped me find the perfect place and she was so patient. She followed up with me over the course of several months. And this place became available at a perfect time because I needed to move in a pinch. What I really appreciated about her was that, every time I came to visit I legit looked …umm..very dressed down…lol…like I had no business looking at these expensive apartments, but she ALWAYS treated me with respect. The 6800 is a such a great place to call home. The staff always does a great job of making sure everyone’s needs are met. They answer swiftly and promptly and make sure the property is always in tip top shape.
