My experience with Sterling is kind of funny, to be honest. The easiest part was signing the lease. Emily—the leasing specialist—helped me through the process, and I was able to move into my apartment without any issues. The funniest part starts after you’re done with leasing. When I left the building after my lease ended, I asked how they handle the return of the security deposit. They told me it takes about 3–4 weeks and that I could call anytime if I had concerns. I said okay and waited. After 4 weeks, I still hadn’t received my security deposit, so I called them. They said they were short-staffed and that the holidays had slowed the process. I politely asked if I could receive it the following week. They said, “Yeah, sure, we will keep you updated.” Another week passed—still nothin

This review is being written in direct response to the voicemail left by Jeff, in which he clearly stated that our applications were not approved and acknowledged that the company did receive both our deposit and the two application payments. Charging $60 per application with absolutely no guarantee and no meaningful communication throughout the process is unacceptable. Fortunately, we were able to dispute the charges and receive refunds through our banks, but that does not excuse the lack of transparency or professionalism we experienced. What ultimately prompted me to write this review was the follow-up email sent to both me and my spouse regarding our original one-star feedback. Found the ideal unit. Paid $1,350 to LOCK IT IN under first come, first served. They took my check in 24 hours and went dark. SEVEN. FULL. DAYS. I packed boxes. I gave notice. I trusted them.
