I hired Matt after firing my previous property manager. The first month, he was responsive to my needs but it took a while to setup tenants their system. It look lots of micromanaging to get one of two properties setup. We were also looking at purchasing new properties. We looked at a couple but the options were far and few between. After three months I reached out to my tenants to hear about their experience. They shared that Matt was not meeting their expectations. After that feedback, I fired the company and I’m still waiting for the one payment they were able to collect.

Matt Bonnes and Kylie Bonnes are a couple of the most frustrating, uncommunicative, unethical and rude people I have ever had to deal with. They withhold security deposits from tenants and attempt to ghost them (will literally pick up the phone and hang up after claiming they will “take care of it momentarily.”) They count on wearing people down with inconvenience to steal money from folks. Before that, it was next to impossible to get them to respond to help with any issues we came to them with personally, yet there were several times they sent multiple key bearing maintenance men to our all young-female apartment in the morning to work on the roof above our unit or something without notifying us who would barge into our apartment without warning and be aggressive to me when I would ques

Nightmare to deal with. Matt and Kylie are uncaring and unresponsive. They have no idea what is happening at their properties, all they care about is money. My apartment was in horrible shape, and I was ultimately forced out of the unit due to a conflict with an unauthorized tenant. I reached out to them several times to ask how to proceed after I moved out, and I received no answer, hence why I’m writing this review. They have withheld my security deposit, as well as ignored the fact that there is someone who isn’t on the lease living in the apartment. Again, I have to stress that the apartment is in dreadful shape— massive cracks in the ceiling, weak spots in the floors, bugs, crumbling exposed brick, poor HVAC system, plumbing issues, I could go on all day. Update 1/9/2023: Matthew Bonnes is refusing to return our security deposits for multiple properties since being fired as our property manager. He simply decided to keep our money. ***If you are having trouble with Matt like so many other people are, please file a complaint through the Department of Real Estate (the DRE) here in California. His license is expired in California, but complaints are still taken very seriously regardless. His (expired) license number here is 01984769. And in Illinois you can file a complaint through the Illinois Dept. of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR). This is hands down the worst property management I have ever dealt with in my life. Words can not describe how unresponsive these people are. I communicated with Kylie TWICE. Once to sign my lease in the beginning. Once when she wanted my security deposit. That is it. I have emailed regarding a neighbor taking the parking spot in my lease. I have emailed in regards to another person joining the lease. I have emailed in regards to whether or not my lease will be renewed. My lease ends in 2 and a half weeks and I still have yet to receive a response. My roommates are applying to a different apartment and they needed a response from Matt in order to confirm their new apartment. They have left 5 voicemails and several emails and have still not heard back. These people DO NOT CARE about anyone
