Shaker Square Apartments

If you are moving to the Cleveland area I would recommend staying as far away from Shaker Square Apartments as possible. My fiance and I moved in to our apartment in July, and while the apartment itself is awesome, we have had nothing but problems with the leasing office. We have called multiple times since moving in about having our intercom system set up, and after being told each time that it would be "taken care of" we finally gave up. They market newly renovated apartments, but fail to tell you that the buildings are barely holding together. Right before we moved in they had to repair the ceilings in our bathroom due to "water damage from upstairs", we probably should have ran the other way at this point. Update: 2 months later and our ceiling hasn’t been fixed. We call multiple times a day and don’t get responses from anyone. AND NOW, someone has been in our apartment, while I was sleeping, and stolen from us. We spoke with someone saying they were the owner and evidently multiple people in our building have been stolen from. There are no signs of a break in, so it was more than likely someone who has a key, which is even more terrifying. If anyone knows how to get out of a lease early, advice would be welcome.

If your apartment is nice and doesn’t need repair you should be fine. BUT if you ever need to get ahold of the staff, good luck... they make a great pitch when you’re touring apartments but since I’ve moved in we’ve had the hardest time getting ahold of them. Their office closes at 4pm, you can try to call them but they usually don’t answer and you can’t leave a message (call just hangs up). I’ve lived here since since Aug 2018 and it’s been a constant battle with parking and getting them to come fix things (door knob broke first week here). My neighbors in my apartment building haven’t had a hot shower all month, duke threatened to shut down the heat the first week of November.

My daughter moved into this apartment today and the management DID NOT bother to clean the apartment before she moved in. The blinds have years of black dirt, dust and grim. The baseboards have years of black dirt, dust and grim. The oven, on the stove, has baked on food. Deplorable to say the least. Rent is almost $1,000 and for what. Oh yeah, the carpet lining the hallway has so many stains that you don't even want your shoes to touch it. Who manages this place at 2870 South Moreland????

I live here now and have been for over a year (since October) and before the new management company Real Green came into play, it was perfect! Now, it’s TERRIBLE! The office staff clearly don’t work here! I’m not sure where they are all day, if u have ANY maintenance issue DONT EVEN THINK about calling them because you will get the “we’ll send someone” response, and they never will send anyone. My bathroom ceiling is leaking from the apt upstairs, the entire maintenance crew is non existent, my apartment is FREEEEZING because they control the heat and they refuse to turn it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sitting in a apartment but it feels like I’m sitting on a park bench. There is no way this apt be the most expensive on the block but we can’t even get heat! This is by far THE WORST C
