Very unimpressed! I scheduled an appointment to tour on 2/11 and after that I heard nothing else. I only heard from them when I reached out asking if the tour was still on. Thankfully I checked the website to ensure the unit’s availability and with no shock, the unit was no longer available. If I wouldn’t have reached out or checked I would’ve left work early and traveled 30+ minutes to be disappointed. I’m just amazed that they didn’t even have the professionalism to reach out to me and let me know the minute the unit was no longer available. It felt as if they completely forgot I had scheduled a tour. I truly hope this isn’t the manner in which they preform all their communication.

DO NOT EVER RENT FROM SCHERMERHORN. I lived in an apartment under this company for two years and it was by FAR my worst renting experience. There were multiple documented instances of us putting in maintenance requests for water damage on the walls and ceiling, windows that were profusely leaking when it rained or snowed, just for them to go completely ignored. Daniel Schermerhorn at one point in the first year of renting fully yelled at one of my room mates over the phone and did not keep professional composure what so ever, over things that were not worth yelling at us over. He also threatened to call the POLICE on us for one of our room mates sitting outside on the property when the weather was nice, saying that it if happened again the authorities would be contacted. Schermerhorn is a GREAT company! They have super LOVELY buildings and apartments for rent. Very well-maintained, clean, and well-managed. Janet Hinkley is OUTSTANDING! She is knowledgeable, professional, kind, friendly, honest, and works with the residents beautifully. Karen Stine, is also so WONDERFUL. She has such a hard-working attitude and fantastic work ethic. Simply can't say enough good things about these 2 ladies & company. BIG thanks! Highly Recommend.

Honestly the worst landlord experience I’ve had. Was living with an emotionally and verbally abusive roommate who kept slamming doors (which damaged the property), left the stove on, and smoked in the room. When we made the landlords aware, they told us the only option was for me to move out, even though there was a police record of domestic dispute. I have reletted mg place and paid the fee, but they still want us to pay the months lease even though they have someone to take it over. When we tried to discuss this with them, they hung up on us. Extremely unprofessional, especially for people who are in such a tough situation. I am luckily out and working with a landlord who is SO much better.

They simply don't care about their tenants.
