I was shopping around for the best refinance rate on a VA mortgage with no points and zero fees. I called several big name lenders including PHH who was currently servicing our mortgage, big banks, local banks, a credit union, and a local mortgage broker. Our loan was sold/transferred to PHH mortgage during a Forbearance from our old servicer. They refuse to acknowledge the original forbearance even exists and are sending threatening letters saying we are MONTHS behind and they don't have to honor anything in the original file. They are also refusing our regular monthly payments until all 4 minutes of the Forbearance from PennyMac is paid in full. So they are saying we haven't paid since May 2025! We had to file a complaint with the CFPB because they are the most incompetent mortgage servicer we have ever had the displeasure of being a part of. They said they will start foreclosure process starting 11/04/2025. They even already has someone come assess our home and charged us for it less than 3 weeks after they took over our loan. My mortgage was sold to PHH without my knowledge or consent. Fine, my original lender had that right. PHH was remarkably easy to deal with to set up my automatic payments. Where I found myself annoyed is that I began receiving unsolicited calls and emails about four months into thing, where PHH offered other services to me in blatant disregard for my request not to have these texts and emails, and a document I filed with them stating that. Further, I was contacted by one of their representatives about refinancing due to interest rates lowering. Fine, but I SPECIFICALLY ASKED if doing so would increase the loan amount or if there would be any fees owing. I even commented that I was offered a refinancing option on my first home, walked in, and was told it would increase the loan by $5k and
