Park Forest Apartments

We lived here just shy of 2 years and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Management was always responsive, professional, and kept all residents informed on relevant scheduled maintenance (e.g., servicing locks). The best part of living here is that the management truly does care about their tenants. Not only were we satisfied with our unit, but we were treated so well by the team in ways such as receiving birthday and holiday cards. We also had no trouble with maintenance as they were always very mindful and responsive. When we moved in, our apartment was in good shape, but was rough around the edges (due to the previous tenant). I lived here for about four years, and even though the building is older, I had a really great experience. What stood out the most was the maintenance team and office staff. They respond quickly and fix issues sincerely (also clearing the roads right away when it snows). I’ve never had a management team this reliable and responsive. The location is also great—right across from Tudek Park, close to a bus stop, and the neighborhood is quiet at night. The only downside is that the building’s age means the heater can be a bit loud in winter, but overall, this was a great place to live. Highly recommend.

Live here at your own risk. This is one of the most run-down apartments in State College. If you value your sanity, do not rent here. Cleanliness at move-in: 0/10. The apartment was dirty when I arrived, see Photo 1-3. They claimed the carpet was new, but I vacuumed up large amounts of cat hair. I had warned them the previous tenant had a cat and I was allergic, but they did not clean it properly (but I bet they still billed the previous tenant for "cleaning"). A friend in the same building found a nail in her carpet, which is a safety hazard. Soundproofing: 0/10. Walls are paper thin. I could hear everything from my neighbors. I have lived at Park Forest for the past 2 years and have honestly had a wonderful experience. The property managers are both extremely kind, and quick when you need assistance, and the maintenance team is very respectful and responsive. They were also very respectful of our cats. They made sure to come in quickly so they couldn’t get out. It was never super noisy here, and was just a quiet, pleasant area. It was really nice having the park so close by too, and the nice trail leading to it. All in all, it was a great experience, cute apartment, and I always felt very safe living here.

Living at Park Forest Apartments was truly one of the highlights of my time in State College. The management team is simply outstanding—especially Tara and Lisa! Their kindness, genuine care, and constant willingness to help make you feel right at home. They always greet you with the warmest smiles and go above and beyond to make life easier for their residents. If I weren’t moving, I wouldn’t think twice about continuing to live there. It’s more than just an apartment—it's a place where you’re genuinely cared for.
