Park at Winterset Apartment Homes

Absolutely Horrible Experience Within my first week here, my apartment flooded, damaging my belongings. I have a two-year-old son, and management insisted the unit was “habitable” when it clearly wasn’t ; I even had to call the health department. They refused to replace the soaked carpets and flooring and now my son has rashes on his feet. There’s visible mold that management claims is just “glue turned black.” My car was towed from an area with no signage, and now my heat hasn’t worked for over a week. Management takes no accountability, constantly makes excuses, and ignores serious issues. The living conditions are unsafe and unhealthy; DO NOT MOVE HERE!

Where to begin! We moved to The Park at Winterset in late April 2025, so it has been a little over 3 full months. We had been looking for a suitable place to move from Owings Park Apartments, another community that we thoroughly enjoyed living at, but unfortunately grew to be out of our price range. We ended up liking this property more! We settled on this apartment complex because it is a more secluded community surrounded by beautiful trees and very friendly residents. It is right across from Lyons Mill elementary school, a peaceful area, short drive from different restaurants and grocery stores as well, which was a MUST. Ever since Murn Management has taken over, this place has been miserable to live in and I try not to be home as often because of it. Prior to Murn, all the staff was friendly, the grounds were kept clean, there were community events, and maintenance always handled any issue with ease in a timely manner. Murn quietly took over in August after a random notice shared our resident portal would be down. Now with Murn, I constantly have to email to get a response from anyone and when I do, then there is a response. For example, I inquired about the grounds getting a new recycle bin as the previous one was not in great shape at all. Management said it was ordered after I had to mention it and yet, there is still no new bin. There is a constant pile up of trash, a new parking system now charging g

My family and I came to tour these apartments yesterday. I extend grace because it is only one lady in there as of right now and she seemed all over the place. However, we asked to see the apartments that were available as of yesterday per the website and she said she couldn't show them to us. So, we saw a different that was ground level... but it seemed very old and not taken care of. Hard pass on applying for that one. We asked to see any of the three that were available (2 bd) and able to move in same day. She said she couldn't because they are pre-leased which didn't make much sense. So instead, she tried to throw a lot of their incentives at us and then showed us a 3 bedroom. I appreciated that but after the tour she insisted on us renting that particular 3 bedroom. Unless you just want a cheap place DO NOT MOVE HERE! It’s even worse since the new company took over. There is always some type of flood which sadly I was use to but this new company sucks! My apartment is still a mess (going on two weeks since it flooded last) NEVER EVER received a call from the property mgr (still haven’t) smh. The price isn’t worth the stress and damages. I’m adding to my review since they responded. IT WAS NOT A LEAK IT WAS A FLOOD! I will be posting pics. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
