To all women of color considering this salon, please read before booking. On January 7, 2026, I scheduled a wash and curl appointment with Briana. On January 8, the appointment was canceled without notice, explanation, or an offer to reschedule. When I attempted to rebook, I discovered I had been blocked by the stylist on social media (behavior that felt unprofessional, retaliatory, and discriminatory). I booked with her because I admired her work on women who look like me and wanted to support a smaller Black-owned business. Unfortunately, that decision resulted in one of the most uncomfortable salon experiences I’ve ever had. During my appointment, she repeatedly called me out of my name even after I asked her to stop. This brings back memories of when I worked downtown, and Library Lofts was known as The Good Housekeeping Shops. It was an appliance store, very nice to work at. Very nice interior and J L Hudson's was across the street. Would love to live there, but can't afford it. Thank you for keeping this building alive. Maryann Kita
