Hopkins County Abstract

I recently purchased a home in late 2025, and my experience with Hopkins County Abstract was absolutely frustrating. This is by far the most unprofessional and irresponsible title company I have ever dealt with. I closed on the house at the end of October. Logically, I should only be responsible for the property tax from the closing date through the end of the year (roughly two months and one week). However, this company used the *2024* tax rate to calculate my prorated share. As a result, I ended up paying for more than six months of taxes even though I only lived there for two months. This mistake cost me an extra $1,000+.
