Holly Tree Apartments

Been here almost 2 months. I really don't get the bad reviews. I have a 3 bedroom, first floor place, and am pretty satisfied. At night, it is super-quiet. Pin-drop quiet. Sure, in the morning you'll here other tenants moving around (I get up early for work, so I don't care), but before you move in, you'll already see that there are people living above/beneath/beside you. Doesn't require a degree in architecture to figure that into your decision to move in. Two things I do agree on though (hence the four stars) - first, the walls. They smudge REAL easily. Most times you can clean it off though, so not a huge issue. And yes (two), the apartments are a bit on the pricey side, but personally I think the complex, as a whole, is worth it.

You get what you pay for...I wouldn't consider these luxury apartments they are aesthetically pleasing but not luxury. 1.They don't have garbage disposals. 2. They are constructed with cheap materials internal & external. If you touch your wall you will scrape the paint off, if a plate hits your cabinet you will be left with a nick, My carpet required repairs because the padding was thing and nails would become exposed when you walk over it. Externally the railing through out the complex seems to be PVC piping...even balconies, the stairs are made of wood & appears to be unfinished just painted to look pretty, and the drains overflow when it rains so water pools on the stairs. 3. Im so happy we found you when we needed a home, my family loved your facility and staff (Lauren and Beth). We never had a problem with the apt for the two years we lived there, minor repairs were needed but nothing that a phone call and a very fast handy man response could not solve. My kids loved walking the trails and playing around the lake area in winter with there little sled. The only reason we moved is because we bought a house but have no complains what so ever about our stay. The apt was very well equipped and the walking closet in the master bedroom its a luxury in PA. Very nice layout and appliances we would recommend your facility every time we have the opportunity. ***This post was taken down shortly after I originally posted it. This is a re-post*** If lipstick-on-a-pig is your idea of luxury, then this place is for you. The most luxurious aspect of these apartments is the granite countertops. Everything else is luxury from 50 feet. The building materials are very cheap. The wall paint comes off when trying to clean it. The floors are uneven. The dishwasher fails at its only job. The clothes washer has ruined several pieces of our clothing by getting stuck under the agitator. The cabinetry in the kitchen falls apart. Pieces of siding on the building partially came off and were banging against the wall. The mulch they used for landscaping is now, after 1 year, indistinguishable from dirt. There is no overhead lighting in the living room or bedrooms.

Now I have only lived here about two weeks so I may edit this down the road, but I REALLY do not understand the bad wrap this place gets. I almost did not live here due to the negativity but I am glad I didn't listen. I will agree on the comment people have made about the walls smudging easily, but that's life. Some of the construction is rather cheap (such as PVC railings) but the price should tell you all you need to know about that. They aren't exactly top tier apartments but they look beautiful. I rarely hear my neighbors as some people complain about. If you are that picky with noise don't live in an apartment! It is obvious you are going to hear SOME noise.
