Hamlet at Wildlight

I have been living in this community since May of 2024 and I love it! To have an apartment that looks and feels like a private house is an amazing feeling! No one walking heavily upstairs (there is no upstairs) and there are no attached walls on either side - very private and quiet. Also, the front porch is a wonderful feature. The staff here are so accommodating, friendly and always ready to assist. They are always hosting a variety of events for the residents. The pool is beautiful, as is the fitness center.

Overall: 3.3/5, rounded up a star for excellent property staff. Staff and management: 5/5 Very kind and helpful. Any problems are promptly handled professionally. Will have occasional issues with calling the office and unable to enforce pet waste policies well, but that is to be expected. Humans will be humans. Location: 3/5 Close to i95, nice trails, and amenities, but constant construction and clear cutting produces issues in the area. An example would be our fiber lines being hit and results in losing access to the network. My family and I moved in December of 2024 and moved out December 2025. It is now March and we still haven’t received our deposit back. Every time I ask I get told different things about it. When we moved out they told us we owed $300 which we found extremely odd since we paid the $300 deposit required for move in, I told them if we apparently never paid a deposit we should have never moved in! Recently the last time I called I was told my deposit was used as a credit by mistake and that with that it took $300 off our first months rent. Mind you we were not aware that it was used for that UNTIL I called several times. I moved out on August 21st, leaving the home in perfect condition — cleaner and better than when I moved in. It’s been 52 days since my lease ended, and they still haven’t returned my security deposit. I’ve called several times, only to hear excuses, and all my emails are completely ignored. According to Florida law (Statute §83.49), landlords must return the security deposit within 30 days or provide written notice of any claim — they have done neither. I lived at The Hamlet at Wildlight in Yulee, FL, and this experience was a major disappointment for anyone expecting honesty and compliance with the law. My lease was set to end on 08/29/2025, but I moved out early on 08/21/2025, leaving the house in the SAME CONDITION – or EVEN BETTER – than when I moved in. I deep cleaned everything, no damages, no issues. I took photos and offered a walkthrough on the day I left, but it was not conducted. As of today (10/14/2025): STILL NO SECURITY DEPOSIT REFUNDED! I've tried EVERYTHING – emails, calls, voicemails to the leasing office at 305 Whitby Dr. When they respond (which is rare), it takes them 5 FULL DAYS for a simple email reply. No updates, no clear explanations, just delays. This goes against basic rental rules. Under Florida Statute 83.49(3
