Hamilton Trace Apartments

Like another reviewer mentioned, I usually wait until moving out before writing reviews, but my time at Hamilton Trace has been so exceptional so far! Philip and Angelina have been great. They are very communicative. It also just feels like they really care and they go the extra mile. The community events are very nice. The apartments are in a nice location, being only a few minutes from the Meijers and on nice days you can even walk to the grocery store! That being said, the complex itself is in a quiet, private location. The apartments themselves are older, but the apartment is really good about upkeep. Overall, I enjoyed my time at Hamilton Trace. It wasn’t perfect, but the apartment felt cozy, safe, and you cannot beat the location. However, a few issues, such as maintenance issues (see roof cave-in story below) and thin walls did lead me to seek other living arrangements. I’ll go into details below. Pros: ------------------------- • The apartments are clean and cozy. • Location is great! You feel safe and are isolated from the busier parts of the city. Even so, these apartments are a very short drive to most any store or restaurant you could want. Okemos is a great place to live. • These are good sized apartments for 2-3 people in a 2 bedroom. • There are 2 washers and 2 dryers in the basement of each building, shared between all residents of that building. I usually wait til move-out is settled to write a full review, and I’ll still do that, but I wanted to write this in the meantime. :) TL;DR, maintenance crew rules and my experience with them far outweighs any cons of living in an older apartment. We’ve lived at Hamilton Trace for almost 5 months, since May 2025, and the maintenance team (Chad and Jay, I believe?) have been phenomenal. I feel bad because we’ve had to request service multiple times a month since these apartments are older and have finicky and semi-frequent issues. I don’t want to make people think the apartments are falling apart or anything. I think we’re a special case, because from what I’ve gathered from the whole staff, our specific unit had the same renter for 40 years and she was shy and preferred not to ask for h

The Leasing office staff are incredibly professional, friendly and helpful! Incredible communication and resources, Phillip was a tremendous help through the whole process every step of the way!

Great price point, maintenance, community events, pool, etc...This place even worked with me to get in without having a cosigner when I was 5 years past a bankruptcy. Cannot recommend enough.
