I've lived in old greenbelt since 1969 and it was a really nice place to live but now unfortunately it's changing for the worst and it hurts me to say this. The rules and the regulations and the standards have drastically been lowered. Soon Old Greenbelt will become just another rough place to live ... Those who can afford to get out will and old Greenbelt will lose its money Base and in the end they will do away with the co-op all together creating another crime ridden drug infested community... It was a great ride and I'll always have the Memories of what old greenbelt was .. people have advised me to start looking at other place to live further out ...

Hello everyone. I thoroughly enjoy living in this community. I’ve been living here for about four years now. I live off of a street called Parkway. It’s beautiful. Their are no problems as far as crime or burglaries are concerned. It’s very safe here. The only problem is that some of these apartments and houses are very antiquated. They weren’t constructed yesterday. So as long as you are willing to deal with that you’ll be just fine.

If you buy a home here, get an outside inspection. Our realator kept telling us that GHI does their own inspection because it is worth their while to sell units in good condition. Not so! The inspection for the unit we purchased has some odds and ends notes about an unpainted garden fence, and other trivial matters, but the inspector conveniently missed the windows that won't close all the way, the weird soft spots in the Pergo floor, the oddly low water pressure, and worst of all, the blasted ant problem! Not all GHI units are created equally, and their inspectors are blind. We thought we'd save a few hundred bucks by just going with GHI's inspection. I regret this decision, and each day I regret buying here, more and more. Caveat Emptor! Don't listen to the realator, get an inspector

Lived here for 8 years. Friendly community with tons of amenities, but units do tend to be on the small side, especially for a family. A great place to live!

I love my GHI home, services, location, greenery, activities: everything GHI. And .... I have lived here since 1997.
