Granville Oaks Apartment Homes

I've been staying at these apts for 3 yrs. The staff, Leigh and Jewell are very professional and always respond to my needs and in a timely manner. They're so pleasant to deal with. Cody who is long term maintenance is a very pleasant and professional young man. Mike who just started in maintenance is so helpful in helping to maintain good care of the needs. Only one thing that isn't so easy to deal with is the steady increase in the rent by the owners without any improvements to the existing apts.

Thankfully my time with Granville Oaks is coming to an end. These apartments are OVERPRICED ridiculously. It’s more steps in the townhouses than it is space. They are outdated. They do not fix things simply patch, paint over, and rig things that should be replaced. I’ve had two cabinets hanging off for months management knew about this when they decided to come step into everyone apartments when they knew corporate was coming, months later the cabinets are still hanging. The water bill amounts excessively increase month by month they blame it on Granville county that’s nonsense how about send someone out to check for water leaks as they have been told about this situation multiple times. Lived here for 2 years, and it had its perks, nice walking trail, awesome pool, a good dog park. My qualms with it eventually outweighed the good so I decided not to renew my lease. I had 2 major water leaks while there, one was from a refrigerator line coming undone above me after a terminix inspection, and water heater going out, very typical things that maintenance took care of immediately, a great group of guys. I did have a dog, and the apartments are 90% carpeted so they get dirty very fast. They will not do “pet treatments” or carpet cleaning once you move out. If they carpet is dirty or soiled in any way they will rip it up and charge you the pro-rated price on top of you already paying monthly pet fees and a pet deposit when you sign a lease. I hate to say that i’d have to give these apartments one star. I have never and will never live there but my biggest complaint is management. I was invited over by a friend who lives in these apartments, and we got blamed for throwing chairs & tables into the pool. Management claimed to have “footage” of us doing so but if they had actual “footage” of anything, it was me and her picking chairs and tables out of the water. She got banned a few days after with a note being left on the door claiming her & I were going against pool rules we were in fact not. Many people who have lived here agree that the management team is full of rednecks who show different treatment to the African Americans, and/or people of color.
