We recently purchased a new build townhome from Charter Homes in the Community of Grange in Carlisle, PA. We made our purchase long distance from Texas, site unseen. Our salesperson Donna made the entire process seamless. She was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions with professionalism and kindness. We trusted one of the largest purchases we have ever made to her and the Grange Team. James our builder made sure that everything was just right and made us feel very comfortable during our initial meeting and our final walk through. My husband and I purchased a new home from Donna in July 2025 and officially closed on our home this week. We chose Grange because of its ideal location and the highly sought after CV School District. Donna was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive throughout the entire homebuilding process. She listened carefully, took every concern seriously, and ensured we understood each step from start to finish. The construction quality has been very disappointing, and the warranty department has only added to the frustration. Within just a few months of moving in, the siding frame was pulled off by normal wind, yet the warranty team dismissed it as an “act of God,” despite there being no severe weather such as a tornado or earthquake. The paint quality is also poor and began peeling within months. On top of that, the HOA has overly restrictive rules — for example, they do not allow permanent holiday lights — making it feel like we are paying a mortgage just to be more limited than in a rental property.

My husband and I were exploring neighborhoods where we could finally settle down, and we found ourselves choosing between Grange and Arcona, both built by Charter Homes. Ultimately, we decided to stop by Grange after visiting Arcona, as we were particularly interested in the Cumberland Valley School District. As soon as we pulled up to the home store, it was clear that the location alone was ideal. Target, Kohls, Sheetz, and other conveniences are all within a mile of the neighborhood.
