Fairlawn Village

I was charged for processing fee of gas service. I did not order gas because the leasing agent told me that I don't need gas. I texted the leasing office and they resolved the problem right away. My experience was the staff with the company including the maintenance guy has been pleasant. The location is good near bus line in walking distance to many places. It's quiet and safe. My neighbors are nice and quiet people. My apartment was newly renovated. The only thing I wish is to have more recycling containers and a pickup of the large waste.

I lived in Fairlawn village for 3 years, and my experience with the management, maintenance team, and neighbors were all fantastic. The location is convenient for students to bus to the campus. The rent is pretty affordable for graduate students. However, I had to take one star off due to the safety concerns me and my neighbors had. The middle school students from Urbana Middle School were problematic. They harassed several of my neighbors, threw rocks at the cars, stole things on our porch till we had to file police reports. We had several important packages stolen by them. We installed cameras and the kids had the audacity to still keep stealing. I lived in Fairlawn Village managed by Fairlawn Real Estate for almost a year. The unit I lived in had a strong smell when I moved in. I requested maintenance for a few times and it was not revolved even after I moved out. I think I left the unit with decent condition as I only lived there less than a year. But they took almost my whole security deposit after I moved out for reasons I don't agree with. They also charged me more than $300 for a visit to check on the heater. The guy didn't do anything to fix it and they said it was resident caused problem because I did not close the window. One, there was only a small crack in the window, and second, I open it because of the smell that I have to lived with for whole year. All my clothes and bags got the smell. Megan helped me find an apartment that was perfect for me and my boyfriend within a week! When I first inquired about apartments within Fairlawn Megan sent me a whole list of available properties that met my needs and she helped me narrow it down to the perfect one and scheduled me for a tour that same week! Couldn’t get my application in any sooner! I look forward to working with Megan more in the future!

Daisy has been amazing and very helpful. I am disabled and Daisy is helping me with a transfer. She is genuinely interested in the tenants.
