Currents on the Charles

I would strongly recommend this apartment only to people who enjoy constant noise, secondhand smoke, and extremely poor management responses. I have been unable to rest in my own unit due to severe noise from the upstairs apartment—loud banging day and night, often enough to wake me from deep sleep. I reported this issue multiple times. Management either did not respond at all or replied that the upstairs residents claimed they were being quiet, and therefore nothing could be done. Over time, I noticed a pattern: the noise would often start after the upstairs tenants went out to their balcony. Extremely disappointed with the leasing process. The building advertised “Black Friday” specials everywhere — in the staged unit, the elevator, and online — showing $150 off (11/25–11/30) and four weeks free. None of these offers were marked as unit-specific, and they were not reflected in my lease. I applied on 11/26, and the leasing team sent me a completely incorrect lease. They then stated the promotion “only applies to 11/27–12/01” and decided to “do me a favor” by honoring only $150 off the first full month, completely ignoring the four weeks free advertised online. Update 08/2024: AVOID this apartment complex if you value your mental health and money. Rats and dog poop throughout the community, broken amenities and gym equipment that don't get fixed until months later, disconnected management staff, weed smoking and hostile residents, stolen packages and repeated fire alarms, are all just few of the issues we've experienced living at currents on the charles. They advertise their apartments as luxury, but their community that they manage is anything but luxury. Arrived late for my tour with my Dad and they were closed. My dad saw the office guy and he still showed us a couple of apartments. We drove from New York so we appreciated him helping us out.

I never really write reviews, but I had such a bad time with Currents on the Charles that I had to say something. The whole leasing thing was a total disaster, super disorganized, not professional at all, and honestly kind of rude. As an international student, I was ready to pay everything upfront and gave them a ton of documents like bank statements and proof of tuition payments. But they kept turning me down for the silliest verification issues. I followed up a bunch, but their calls went straight to voicemail, and when they did reply, their messages were full of typos.
