Colonial Real Estate

We have been renting with Colonial for about a month and they have been fantastic! They were very helpful and flexible through the move-in process. They are great communicators and very friendly. We mentioned a couple things at move-in were an issue, and we have had all kinds of maintenance people showing up to fix things. We were a little hesitant to rent with them because of some less-than-stellar reviews, but that was under the old management. This management has been excellent, and we are looking forward to continuing to rent with them.

I have been renting with Colonial for a little over a year now. They have always been attentive, and great communicators. The people in the office have hearts of gold, and have worked with me on several occasions when I couldn't pay rent right away. As a single Mom this means the world. I highly recommend them for an affordable, and nice place to call home!

When speaking with two employees at this property management company on 08/22/2025. I agreed to meet with "John" on 08/24/2025 at 11:00 am to see an apartment. Mind you, I am a chosen one and a witch. I called twice before 10:30 am to ensure I could reach someone by phone. As John said, "You can call or text when you are close to let me know how far you are and if you will be running late." I texted the same number at 9:26 and waited until 10:30 am to see if I would receive a call back from the after-hours call center or someone from the office about meeting me at the property for an in-person walk-through, but there was no response. John stated that he understood how long the drive is from Lubbock, TX, to Clovis, NM, and agreed still to meet me at the property at 11:00 am. Instead, I was

Me and my husband called colonial real estate to inquire information about a two bed two bath on MLK. She told me that the one we were looking at had already been taken, but that there was another one and in the same area on the same street. That was a two bad two bath all utilities paid for that was on the market. After inquiring about it, she told us that there had been one person that filed for the application, but did not come back and that it was open and there was nobody on the waiting list or applying for the place. She told me that if we applied for the for the place by submitting an application, she would hold it for us and get us approved into the place on that day. We submitted our applications. DO NOT RENT FROM COLONIAL REAL ESTATE!!! This company is not to be trusted and preys on military families. They tried to charge me over $600 when we moved out. They lost our paperwork showing we paid our pet deposit and we were charged exorbitant amounts for things we were not told we would be charged for at the move-out inspection. When I tried to contact the property manager about the charges, he was incredibly unprofessional. He would repeatedly dodge answering my questions and never provided proof (receipts) for any of his charges. After a month of back and forth, and a letter from an attorney, I finally received my deposit back, but it was still the incorrect amount.
