I’ve always had great experiences with the Mt Vernon and Everett locations of Chicago Title. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It may be odd to have a “go-to” title company, but Chicago Title is mine

Team Donley at Chicago Title in Mount Vernon is the best in the business. Clear communication, friendly faces, the ability to pivot, and continuously ensuring correct and accurate document handling and filing are what sets them heads and shoulders above the competition. We continue to do business in Skagit County not only because of the tax benefits it provides our buyers and sellers, but also due to the top notch service provided by Judy, Rebecca, Natalie, Heather and the team at Chicago Title! Heather was great to work with during the sale of my home. She always made herself available to speak with me, did a wonderful job of explaining the hows and whys of things, and once she was made privy of the fact that I lived 3k miles away, she really went to work making sure I got a virtual notary when a mobile one wasn’t able to be found and stayed on top of the mortgage company when they were being difficult about a final payoff amount on closing day. Things weren’t smooth often, but she did a great job of riding the waves, staying patient and upbeat, and doing her darndest to make sure things went as best as they could. I can’t thank her enough for being the bright spot in an otherwise very difficult sale process.

So far I’m not getting a good feeling from Chicago Title in Mt. Vernon. I called this morning to ask for a discount on the fee’s they are charging. I was told I would have to talk to their “Closer” and was put on hold. Turns out the Closer was not available. I was then put on the phone with Diane Barlow which appears to be an attorney for Chicago Title working out of another office. Diane then came after my request for a discount as if she was defending OJ Simpson. She attempted to wordsmith me into believing no savings could be had because of State Law. When I asked for the State law that said she couldn’t give me a discount. She finally relented and said. "As discussed on the phone, in regards to our Escrow Fee, if we are provided with a filed rate from another Escrow Company, w

Wish I could give zero, honestly. Scheduled signing for a Saturday at 4:30. The notary they assigned us called and said she wasn't available after 4, so we had to bump up our appointment. Then when we met our assigned notary, we got halfway through signing only to find the date on the paperwork to be wrong. They told us we can't sign before the date they printed on the papers. Here we are on the day of close waiting for them to call us to reschedule. They got us in for a morning appointment, but instead of someone meeting us, we have to run to their office 30 minutes away to sign what we already signed days ago. 🙃 Unnecessary stress during an already stressful process.
