Briarwood Apartments

I’m very happy with my apartment so far. The environment is clean and well maintained, and the pool is a great place to relax. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the neighbors I’ve met have been very kind. I’m really looking forward to spending the year living here.

Awful place to live, if you’re a young person looking for a place to start off, do not move here. I moved here when I was freshly 18, and I lived here for 2 years, and it was a horrible experience. They rarely respond to maintenance requests, my fridge had stopped working and they didn’t call back for two weeks, but it had briefly started working again. I finally actually got a new one 3 months after the first request, which was a tremendous upgrade from my at least 30+ year old fridge from before. But they knew I was going to be at work, and left my groceries out on the stove so I had to throw away at least $30 worth of food. I paid roughly $1000 in pet rent across the time I lived there, and a $925 security deposit, but they still charged me $453 after I moved out due to “pet damages” t

Nice staff, nice area; close to a lot in portage, and have been generally happy with my time here. However, the past 2.5 months, and throughout most of the summer, there has been constant construction. In general, there is not great insulation on the windows or the doors so you can hear a great deal of outside noise from neighbors, the greenhouses, and garbage truck (it has to back up after it gets trash so expect to be woken up at least once a week for that) and also the train that comes through town at 4am. There is just very little break from noise be it the businesses, neighbors, or construction on the apartments themselves; better insulation would help not only with heating costs but noise reductions for the residents. I lived at Briarwood for 4 years. It was my home and I loved it. The laundry room was the only problem I had. There were only 3 washers per building. I would use it on a weekday when it wasn't busy. One other thing just a note-if I left my car unlocked I did have a few things stolen that weren't of any value. A bonus my packages on my doorstep were always there. And I had a lot of deliveries. Maintenance was always very helpful and on time. Management attentive.

Girlfrind and i lived here couple years ago. And still have NOT GOTTEN OUR DEPOSIT BACK. NOR A LIST OF DEDUCTIONS OF WHY WE DIDNT GET OUR DEPOSIT. PLACES IS A SCAM. WE MOVED 14 days before the tornado and didn’t recieve an email or anything about the deposit. Trash.
