Ashwood Valley

🚩Unprofessional, unsafe and poorly managed showing experience. I called Ashwood Valley Apartments in advance and scheduled an appointment to see the apartment. My BF took time off work to come with me, and my mother also joined. We drove 30 minutes to Danbury and arrived on time for our scheduled showing. Once we arrived, we were left waiting in the office for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. Then, out of nowhere, they demanded IDs. I was never informed on the phone that bringing a physical ID was mandatory. My boyfriend had his ID, and I had my ID on my phone, which is commonly accepted everywhere — but they refused to accept it. At that point, it was clear they had completely wasted our time. What made it worse was seeing signs posted all over the property stating

I moved here a couple of months ago from out of state, so I took a big risk with not seeing this place in person! Let me just say my risk paid off... My place is spectacular and the staff in the office made everything so seemless!! There have been a couple of little issues that were addressed immediately, and this is an amazing community to live in! It's very quiet here, so if that's what you are looking for, contact any of the staff at the office, and they will be more than willing to help you out. The maintenance team is also the best I've ever encountered!! I love it here!!!

I lived at Ashwood Valley for one year with my toddler in a fully carpeted apartment. When I moved out, I was shocked to be charged $718 for full carpet replacement due to what they called “staining throughout.” These were small, normal marks from daily family life — nothing excessive or destructive. Despite this, no attempt was made to professionally clean the carpet first and they insisted on replacing all the carpet (which was already 4 years old), then billed me for the 3 “remaining” years of carpet life. I was told if I didn’t pay, I’d be sent to collections — an incredibly stressful threat while moving out of state. I understand landlords have policies, but this felt extremely rigid and unfair. If you’re a family or have young children, I urge you to think carefully before renting

Melissa made sure that my entire move in process was great and easy . Very friendly area to live and safe for my 10 year old son with kids to play with. Melissa has been amazing and very tentative to any needs or questions that we may have . Maintenance is amazing always there to fix any issues if we ever have any and great with the pets that I have. Great place to live with a family I can’t say enough about how great Melissa and Courtney are as well as the maintenance.

I've lived in a lot of apartments and this is hands down the best experience I've had. The staff is all super friendly and on top of their game. They allow dogs and keep the grounds very clean. The maintenance men take care of issues promptly and with a smile. Melissa, in the office, is an absolute peach, quick to respond and goes above and beyond to help. My neighbors were overall very pleasant people. And their treadmills are super nice. If you have dogs, you'll love it here.
