Alden Trace Apartments

I called to inquire about availability and was asked, of course, if I had any pets or children. I have a 13 y/o daughter and 5 y/o son and was told no one there has children. I asked if this was retirement community, and he began to imply it was but then corrected himself to say they weren't. He went well out of his way to make me feel discriminated against for having children, and I'm very seriously considering reporting this as a violation of the Fair Housing Act. What a rude person.

When I called to inquire about the apartment I was told it was mostly senior citizens but that younger adults could rent as well. I was told about the requirements which were Had to make $2500 a month. Had to have had a job for 6 months. Would run credit but would not base it on a score- would make sure you actually have a credit history. The gentleman was very helpful and positive. I then get a call from a lady named Sandy. Right off the bat she was rude. She told me that she would not be able to rent to me due to my credit discrepancies. I asked her to elaborate and she got really offended and listed of delinquent accounts that had not fallen off get from 2-10 years ago that were acquired with my last marriage. So far, great. I just moved in and there is new carpet, new water heater and the place is spic and span. I checked with my new neighbor and she has lived there over 2 years and has never had any issues; she works at night; sleeps in day and has never had anyone come in during the day unannounced - personally, I have never moved into a place so clean; everything was explained to me about the apartment and so far, I am quite pleased.

I have no idea how so many negative reviews have been made about Alden Trace, but I have referred many people to these apartments. At least HALF of the tenants are elderly, so the community is quiet and they are **IMMACULATE** apartments. PLEASE GO SEE THE UNITS BEFORE READING THE REVIEWS THAT ARE PROBABLY WRITTEN BY PREVIOUSLY EVICTED OR DISGRUNTLED TENANTS. The owners are elderly and VERY meticulous about maintaining the property!! Mr Buck Jordan is there every day and constantly working on the units and is NOT a thief. More than half the residents have been there for more than 3 years, which (in my experience) says it all.

Yes I still live here due to rental price; I WISH I had been told the truth 3 years ago. I was TOLD "no dogs allowed". I was told that some of the elder residents had 'tiny' dogs which did not bother anyone. WRONG!! Dogs are permitted to run around the complex with no leash and most of the dogs are 'ankle biters" and are under no control by their owners. I have complained many times but all I am told is that I was NOT TOLD about a "no dog" policy; the problem needs to be addressed as someone is going to get hurt soon. DO NOT MOVE HERE if you cannot stand the noise of yapping dogs - they will wake you up and management does NOTHING!
