My wife and I had a planned Y&M build with a clean state. From the beginning, Jim Meathe played a critical role in finding architects to interview and ultimately select. Jim also arranged a combined 1st design meeting where we three (builder, architect, and customer) brainstormed our way to a fantastic sketch design on day one! His philosophy and creativity was pivotal in our initial design phase. As we continued into design detail, Jim was instrumental in the flow of the theme throughout the room design, exterior design and even the landscape. During the actual build, our GC Joe was instrumental throughout lock step with Jim and continued the collaboration. Young and Meathe built the home we have in Petoskey, Michigan and overall my wife and I simply couldn’t be happier. We met with Jim Meathe on several occasions prior to purchasing the home and found Jim’s knowledge, expertise and commitment to constructing a high quality home to be readily apparent. We hired Jim in 2013 to build our cottage from scratch on Walloon Lake. Using Greg Presley as an architect Jim Meathe did a great job coming in under budget and on time. Jim’s attention to detail and his fabulous taste were impressive. He also had a great relationship with his subcontractors. We have enjoyed the house for the last 10 years and it remains a quality build. We decided to build an additional screened in porch with fireplace last year and hired Jim and his crew Including Tom Dever a great carpenter. Jim Meathe and his partner Doug Beasley are first rate professionals and are now building a second home for us.
