Visionary Homes

Absolutely stellar experience with Visionary. This is our third newly built house – two with a “spec home” builder and one with a custom builder. Of these three builds, Visionary is among the best. No games, good decent people. From our salesman (Zak), to the design team and our incredible building supervisor (Aaron), not a bad egg in the bunch. We felt we had a decent amount of upgrade choices to build what feels more like a custom home. We’re new to Cache Valley and could not find anything in the pre-owned market that came even close to what we could get new. Do not buy a home from Visionary. Contractors do the bare minimum. Our HVAC was completed by JBL that was sent to check things out due to condensation on windows. He showed and said he was coming as courtesy to Visionary and said everything looked great, that he did the work himself. He also tried to blame it on me and my thermostat that keep in mind I rarely change the temperature on, he literally put a lock on it where and can only adjust within so many degrees. If he is doing that, it tells me he isn’t confident in his work. However, things were not great, things were crushed in the attic that had to be fixed by a 3rd party. The craftsmanship that went into my home is subpar. Build it as fast as possible and hope for the best should be the motto of Visionary Homes. I shouldn’t have to have the warranty guys come out almost every month to repair something. From floors floating because leveler wasn’t put down to subfloors not being screwed down. Don’t even get me started with the HOA. They arbitrarily make changes to the CCR’s and they’re extremely subjective to interpretation and opinion. I can’t in good faith ever recommend anyone to buy home from visionary. I was blinded by being recently divorced and trying to find a new home and place to have my kids visit. Don’t make my mistake.

I think many have experience with the “build it as quick as we can for profit and quality be damned” work of Ironwood Construction and Visionary Homes, but it’s also helpful to know what kind of person is behind the work being done. Character is made clear in how you treat those that aren’t giving you money. They’re tearing out the trees near Ballard Creek to build more townhomes. I knew they were developing another phase of townhomes, but was under the impression that the trees were going to be left alone. I understand I’m not in a position to stop it from happening, but called Todd from Ironwood Construction simply to ask questions about how many trees they plan to tear down and what they are building on the hillside - the townhomes will be up above the hill and it appears they’re makin

The construction of the townhouse was excellent. In addition, working with Adam, the builder, was fantastic. The reason for the low score was the day after closing they reduced the prices on the townhomes $30,000 - $40,000. We paid full asking price because we were told they wouldn't negotiate, then voila, huge price drop after closing. Talk about getting blindsided and no one would respond to my concerns. Lastly, we were informed that the greenspace in front of our home would be completed soon after closing, now we're being told it won't happen until the property opposite the greenspace is sold and built upon which could be 1-2 years from now. In my opinion, Visionary builds a quality home but I'm very disappointed in the sales and pricing techniques they use and their lack of respon
