We recently rented a unit at 8000 Palmetto Drive (Summer House 309) and could not have been more disappointed. The only positive thing about the unit was the view and proximity to the beach, but they didn’t outweigh the condition of this unit-it was deplorable. The unit desperately needs renovation, with tape placed over broken/worn doors, sliders with screens that are ripped and don’t slide, a shower that drains so slowly it becomes a standing tub, drywall screws popping through in many areas, holes in the ceiling stuffed with insulation, and furniture that needs to be tossed in the dumpster are just the beginning… And the “cleaning” before our arrival? The situation with this condo is not OK and the fact that you don't let the bad reviews on your website makes it even worse!! I will look forward to seeing this, and I will also post on Google! I have rented condos next to each other in this area for the last 20 years and this is the worst experience I've ever had! There was a 10 digit code for the sensitive/broken door combination! Whoever heard of a code that long? (Most are 4 digits so children or other adults in your group can remember the code and get into the unit easily). I tried many times to use the code and the combination did not work. I would give 0 stars if possible. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Only stay here if you want this company to conveniently “not find” your forgotten items. I checked out of a Vacasa rental last Friday and left a pair of crocodile golden goose. Magically staff was “unable to find the shoes,” despite being the only people in the rental after checking out. I was told for nearly a week they couldn’t get a local property manager to check a lost and found. I NEVER stay in property rentals because, unlike hotels, there is loyalty to the customer. If I left an item at hotel at the same price point I would have been notified my item was left, not gaslit numerous times and essentially robbed. Think it’s very funny that my item was there Vacasa cleaned the property then magically my item was missing. Will

I rented with this company at the beginning of the month. The place was beautiful but the local rental office was horrible. I didn’t have enough bedding and when I asked for more they dropped off dirty sheets covered in hair. I called the corporate office 7 times that weekend, and they were great, but the local office never responded and never brought clean sheets. I had to go buy x large beach towels at the surf shop to sleep with. I come to the Charleston area often and will warn everyone I know to avoid doing business with IOP Vacasa.

I rented a dog friendly vacation house thru Expedia. I paid for *non-refundable* reservation full amount of almost $400. Two days later I was contacted via email by Vacasa, the property managing company. They requested that I sign another rental agreement with totally different rules and regulations including “pets not allowed, fine is $1,000”. They stated that check-in information will not be provided unless I sign new rental agreement. This is SCAM because it is just illegal to take non-refundable payment and then ask to sign a document which I would never sign if I saw it beforehand. I refused to sign and cancelled, Vacasa refused to return my money. If I would sign that paper and bring my dog with me, I would owe them another $1,000.
