University Village Apartments

My family loved living here and felt very grateful for the low price with everything included. Washer and dryer was not included in the unit, which was a minor cost to get one. The amenities are fantastic! Clubhouse is free to book and has an updated/clean gym, kitchen, main room, piano room, pool table, clean bathrooms, printer, and best of all a play town for children (great for parents in school). The grounds are kept up consistently and has playgrounds and basketball courts. The apartment itself was clean when we moved in. It also has an immense amount of storage, more than I have seen in any apartment (large bedroom closets w/ shelves, extra hall closet, linen closet, and room for food storage in the pantry). We liked living here because of the apartments and amenities, and of course the price. However, management wasn’t always great. When there were issues with the internet they took a long time to answer or told us to call the provider ourselves. When trying to get a contract after leaving for a semester for an internship they would make it hard by changing their policies. Such as the selling contracts policy, apparently they started forbidding that. Even though we were well aware basically first hand that they would easily offer contracts for friends of management. Very bureaucratic. Later we learned that you could in fact buy someone’s contract. They were just trying to scare people off from renewing a contract to sell it to someone who wanted to come back. The University Village is amazing. The rent is due the month before and you can't have a contract unless you are a full time student but you need to know that rent is cheaper and bigger space. The air conditioning is amazing, there is a gym, and a common area that is amazing. For you guys that have kids or that are expecting a kid, there is a kids are for the kids to play. The management is amazing and very helpful! Me and my wife are happy here.

We have loved living at University Village! The price is amazing for what you get and it is owned by the school, so everything is well maintained. The managers are awesome, the ward is great, it is right across the street from campus, we really have no complaints.

University Village is one of the better places if you want bang for your buck, but like many places in Rexburg has some issues (including some unique to it). UV is managed and owned by the local university, so if you have a reasonable problem, it can be a bit bureaucratic or even troublesome to have it taken care of. Maintenance routinely takes around three days to check out problems; management is very friendly if you have no issues, but can get very mean (like many places) if you have legitimate concerns. The housing director has been known to come door-to-door to demean students if they voice concerns, and management and the director have even worked together to kick people out if they voice concerns more than once.
