The Retreat at Garden Lake

Stayed in this complex for 3 years and the rent office lady is horrible and has terrible customer service. I cleaned apartment and patched holes in wall and the apartment had a bleach stain in carpet when I first move. They charged me 50 out of my security deposit on top of me requesting carpet cleaning or hardwood floors because the carpet was already bad. The wouldn’t upgrade and out of a 600 security deposit they sent me $140 basically because of the carpets . I will not recommend a dog to live out there. They also kicked my niece out and kept harassing her about her dog and made her give her dog up in 48 hours. Lying about her dog pooping and she not cleaning it up which was a lie.

My family has been apart of this apartment complex for 3 years! we ended our lease in June unfortunately to be closer to family but, i must say that our time here was absolutely AMAZING!!! 🤩 we’ve never had an issue with management and our neighbors were kind. the only reason i am giving this complex 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the decor. I strongly recommend renovating the apartments. if you are considering living here, DO IT👏🏾

I applied and got approved but decided not to move in. What they don’t tell you is that they do not allow you to see the apartment you’re going to move in before you sign your lease. I personally will never do that and would advise others to be careful of doing so. Taking a tour is one thing because the one they show you no one has ever lived in it. Also they will say as your applying you have to provide proof of income such as giving them access to bank statements and access to your company pay portal. You do not there is a such thing as the Better Business Bureau. I did not give this information and still got approved so please do not feel peer pressured into doing things you’re not comfortable with.

I stopped by to tour on Wednesday. The property manager was closing the office for lunch but she was kind enough to take time to show me around and gave a lot of information about the surrounding area. I will be relocating in October and this property is at the top of my list. The rental rate was one of the lowest I’ve toured in the area. The property is well maintained. I noticed several police officers live at the property, it would be a safe place to live. The model home was nice but is in need of redecorating because the furniture looks like it’s from the 90s.

I lived here a couple months ago. My experience with this apartment complex was nice I liked the noise proof walls & the area was mostly calm but I rate this place a 3/5 because moving out they charged us for stuff that wasn’t our fault. we never had a doorbell in our apartment but they charged us like it was our fault. The towel holder was broken since DAY 1 when I first moved in but they also charged us for that🙂 the kitchen drawers paint looked bad already but they also charged us for it being “melted” 😂 make sure you make a thorough inspection because they go through the inspection quick but when you move out they look at every single detail to get there moneys worth. Newbie so we should have known.🧐
