The Residences at The Pizitz

There are so many things to love about The Pizitz, but the management is what truly stands out. Ashley and her team are kind, professional, and always quick to help. They go above and beyond to make residents feel welcome and supported, and they’re also just genuinely nice people. Everyone, from the front office to maintenance and security, is friendly, attentive, and easy to work with. The building itself is also an incredible place to live. It’s a century-old building with huge windows, great downtown views, and yet none of the usual issues that come with historic properties. It’s quiet, clean, and well maintained, with amazing amenities like the food hall downstairs, attached parking deck, rooftop pool, saunas, and gym. I’m only a future resident with no ties here yet. However, the leasing agent I toured with was so sweet and patient. Her name was Erin Knowles I believe and I enjoyed my tour. She took her time and showed me all of the amenities and everything that I was interested in. This one single tour showed me that this staff actually work with their residents and takes them serious

I have lived here for 7 years yet over time it became swamped with problem after problem. The residence parking situation in their deck is a scam. They recently switched to Metropolis Parking and they are known to scam with heinous fees (please do a google search.) It is outrageous for the Residences at the Pizitz to charge their tenant's guests parking fees. This isn't Manhattan, there are tons of free parking spots in the abandoned blocks, but I refuse to let my guests park there because of the violence that can occur in downtown Birmingham around the Pizitz at night! Very nice building with tons of amenities like a rooftop pool, food court, and nice apartments within this former department store. The stained concrete floors and original hardwoods go well with the nice granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Also, the location makes it walkable to nightlife and great dining options here downtown. Pet friendly as well.

As a resident who lived at the Pizitz For 2 1/2 years, it is such a shame to see who they have hired to manage such an amazing property. As the face of the building, she sets the tone for the entire community—but unfortunately, that tone is anything but welcoming. She was consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, making interactions with her an unpleasant experience. Rather than fostering a sense of community, she belittles residents and treats people with a level of disregard that is completely unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing role. Living in a luxury apartment complex, I expect professionalism and basic courtesy for such an expensive complex, yet she fails to provide either.
