The Lake Shore Apartments

I lived in Lakeshore for 5 years (2020-2025) and I got to say it is the best management I've rented from. The lake view is awesome. I can't really think of anything bad to say, and I don't know if I'll fit everything into this review. But some main points that I know people tend to look for are below: Price: If you're deciding to live in the area, this is the best apartment you'll get for the price range. What I mean by this is that there are other cheaper options, but the quality of apartment will drop as well. If you move closer to inner cities, you'll pay bigger fee. Appliances: The apartment itself wasn't fully up to date, however they were working on updating all apartments and renovating buildings overtime. The apartment I was in was a little outdated, but it wasn't damaged or blemis

Lakeshore apartments was a great place to live. I rented a studio and had a beautiful view of the lake. The prices were also reasonable. I also enjoyed the walking trails & kayaking. The gate at the front was always secure and you could not enter buildings without your key fob so I always felt safe. I had to leave for other reasons but the ladies in the office were able to get me out of my lease easily. They were always incredibly kind and resolved any maintenance issues quickly. I would live here in the future.

Lakeshore notified us by phone that our lease would not be renewed for the upcoming year. When we requested that this decision be provided in writing, they refused to send an email confirming the conversation. This lack of written communication and accountability is both concerning and disappointing. Additionally, the justification provided for this decision was based solely on hearsay. No proof was ever presented, and I only acknowledged the allegation in an effort to stop what felt like ongoing harassment. Based on our interactions and how this situation was handled, we cannot help but feel that we were unfairly targeted as Latino Americans. I had a mixed experience while looking for an apartment here. On the positive side, the leasing agent was polite and got back to me relatively quickly, which I appreciated. I didn't move forward with them because I didn't feel heard in the emails with the leasing agent. I gave a clear move-in timeline and price, but I was encouraged to apply for a unit that was $300 over my limit and that wasn't available until two months after we needed it. Also, my questions about utilities went unanswered after multiple asks. The staff is friendly, but the process felt a bit impersonal and disorganized.

Honestly, trash is not properly disposed of, unsafe salt melt for the snow on every side walk. Claims pet friendly but the salt used even near the dog park is not pet friendly. Animal fecal matter in the disc golf course. It seems like another "beal" property without beals name on it. Ac barely work, heater smells, back doors aren't sealed well, the electrical is poorly done in the bathroom, and the tub even when reglazed doesn't function right. Water temp fluctuates all the time. I will not return, definitely not worth living here. There's better opportunities else where.
