The Ivy At Berlin Place

Where do I begin. I have lived here for over 5 years. The buildings are full of black mold that till this day has not been able to control. Construction workers have been instructed not to talk to tenants regarding this matter The homeless use all the outlets outside of building and come in to common spaces to try and warm up and have to be ran off. If you don’t give them 3 months notice to renew lease your monthly payment goes up. There are no water softeners in the buildings so the water is super hard and constantly messes up toilet. I have had the roofing above me on the balcony’ come crashing down onto my balcony. This place was very cheaply built in a bad part of town and then said to be luxury living. The only luxury you have is moving out. Also the trash chutes are always jam pack

Really enjoyed living here during my time in South Bend. The apartments are spacious and the color scheme of the wood floor, counters, and walls is beautiful. Great location- walking distance to downtown and a close drive to Mishawaka. The complex is very pet friendly as well! There is tight security and the building requires a fob to enter. Danielle in the leasing office was attentive and always helpful, she genuinely cares and ensures that the apartment is being well kept. Definitely recommend this apartment complex!

I just moved in to Ivy at Berlin Place. The process to apply and lease was simple and straight forward. The apartment is great--well laid out with solid appliances. More importantly, the move in process was seamless. Danielle worked to make sure everything was prepared and ready. Both Danielle and Cory have been quick to deal with any requests for things needed. The location is terrific. Being downtown in the "new" South Bend and right next to the South Bend Cubs is is a plus as well. If you are looking for a quality apartment with a responsive management in a great location, this is the place that should be on your list.

Love the flooring, the natural light, the kitchens, the storage--and the location, too. Easy walk to work or downtown--or even to Howard Park. You can even see Cubs games from the rooftop during the season. Danielle and the other leasing office staff are super nice, helpful, and go out of their way to provide amazing accommodations for the residents. I love living here; if you're looking for a place in South Bend, be sure to check this place out!

EDIT: It’s been 3 years now that I’ve lived here and in the last year and a half the quality has dropped significantly. They used to have events every month or so and snacks and drinks in common areas. We don’t have those anymore. I have reached out with safety incidents where I had to call the police because my porch furniture was being stolen and noise complaints during construction in the retail sections till 8pm on Friday nights and weekends and all these concerns have been ignored. Very disappointing because I really used to enjoy living here and was one of the first ones to move into these new apartments. The rent has increased constantly at a preposterous rate of $150 per year for a 1 bedroom but the quality has decreased just as significantly. The only benefit are the new appliance
