My husband and I locked in a rate with Courtney with the promise we could float our rate down once if any drops were to occur. A large drop in rates happened, we reached out to Courtney, she told us we couldn't not float the rate down until 10 days from close, there was no mention of this window when we locked. We found a different loan officer who could lower the rate and lower the closing costs. We asked Courtney to transfer our VA appraisal to this new officer, during this phone call she accused my husband of mortgage fraud and threatened to report us to the VA. We did not do anything illegal or anything that should have provoked this type of unprofessional response, we were three weeks from close with plenty of time to swap lenders if we so chose. While the market was tough with interest rates as well as selling of our existing home, Courtney kept us apprised of the rates and worked flawlessly with our realtor to help us with a rate buy down.
