The Historic Fifth Ward Lofts

I love living here! Our unit is so unique with beautiful views & so much sunlight. Emily is so easy to work with & was so patient before we moved in - from answering my dozens of questions to letting me see the unit and take measurements several times before move-in. The maintenance team is extremely prompt & careful. The apartment itself had brand new flooring/carpeting and appliances when we moved in, which is a bonus. Because of how thick the walls are, we hardly hear each other room to room, let alone neighbors!

Carpets should’ve been replaced before we moved in and they had the audacity to charge us for them when we moved out. My closet and room constantly smelled of cigarette smoke from the neighbor next door. The walls are EXTREMELY thin, you can hear every neighbors conversation, not to mention during Covid they were throwing eviction notices to people. Window screens would constantly fall 3 floors onto the street when windy out! Not to mention how drafty they were in winter, and don’t even get me started on the train breaking to port and screeching constantly. Definitely not worth the price. Parking was terrible, could’ve at least included a spot with the rent or updated washers/dryers or something. Would not recommend this place, looks cool but that’s it. Absolutely loved living here as a single young professional. I felt safe, maintenance and staff were efficient/effective and very kind. The location is amazing with safety features in place and history/architectural design that is rare. This place is a hidden gem and affordable. Highly recommend.

Do not consider living here. I along with multiple friends have lived in this building over the years and have collectively had horrible experiences. I am a young professional who takes care of their home, and was hit with every possible way for them to take my security deposit even after having hired a cleaning service. The day of our move out the management came to our apartment for inspection and were incredibly rude/condescending to us and even told us we clearly “didn’t do a great job.” It was inappropriate and uncalled for. I’ve lived in many different apartment complexes over my 10 years in Milwaukee now and never have I seen anything worse. The Historic Fifth Ward Loft Apartments are absolutely the finest, cleanest and best well maintained apartments that I have ever resided in. The maintenance department and management teams are superb. I have recommended this property to many people and I will not hesitate to do so in the future. A+++ in my grade book.
