The Fort Apartments

I am very impressed with the new management at The Fort Apartments! They are making numerous upgrades to the property that will make a huge difference. Beyond that, the upkeep is stellar. I can't believe how quickly they plow the parking lot and shovel the sidewalks when it snows. I constantly see cleaning crews cleaning the common areas. Communication is excellent. There is a very high level of care here. This would be an excellent place for young professionals looking for a great area to live in, or older folks looking to downsize!

Sedara Trotter, the property manager, was extremely helpful and supportive throughout my experience. She took the time to understand my needs and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. Her professionalism, patience, and genuine care made a big difference, and I truly appreciated how attentive she was. It was a very positive experience working with her.

I would definitely think twice before renting here. I've had a maintenance request in for over 2 weeks. No response other than to say it is in their que. I checked last week and heard the same thing. Today they told me they were down to one maintenance person for the whole property and they let someone go last week. Not really my problem. There are always contractors you could hire to take care of these issues while you look for an additional maintenance person. There apparently are 7 requests in front of mine. I appreciated the honesty...but they gave me no timeline on when it might be fixed or any comfort my issue would be fixed anytime soon. I mentioned I was unhappy...didn't seem to phase the person in the office. Either she didn't have any authority to do anything about it o

If I would’ve did my review when I first moved in, I would’ve said 5. I love the neighborhood. My neighbors are nice and everyone mind their business. I like the new office staff but I have to point out Ms. Vonna is amazing literally! But I’ve lived here for a couple of months now. When I first moved in I reported my ceiling had yellow marks all over it in my kitchen. My screen on my patio was torn. In the main room it is a crack in my window which they said they would fix everything. So I kept updating the office about everything but they didn’t have a maintenance team. Soons they got a team a few months later I reminded them again about these damages. They still Haven’t fixed anything literally! I moved into The Fort apartments at the end of July. I had viewed a few other apartments, and it seemed to be the best option for me at the time. At the beginning, things seemed to be pretty good. The apartment is a decent size, I really like the high ceilings, and the large balcony. I also love the area. However, the maintenance here is not good, and the office staff has done little to help me with the issues I have had with the apartment. I have tried to speak with them on several occasions. I have been spoken to rudely by staff, which makes it all even more difficult. The refrigerator leaks water down from the top onto the top shelf.
