The Flin

At first glance, the building sells you an image: a fancy lobby and a rooftop terrace. But once you actually live here, the reality is very different. Apartments are poorly designed and finished with cheap materials — they even used the same pressed wood for both kitchen and bathroom cabinets, which looks low-quality and tacky. Floors are uneven (one of our dining chairs couldn’t even slide under the table), and there’s no proper threshold between carpet and tile in the bedrooms, so you end up tripping every time you walk in or out. Our kitchen countertop was already chipped, the faucets scratched, and during the so-called “move-in tour” they have you point out flaws, but nothing is ever officially documented. I just moved after living there for 2.5 years to a different city. The Flin is a great spot, I will miss it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Work orders are completed ASAP. Nice quality apartment, pretty quiet throughout. Clean amenities, didn’t have to join a gym. Location was perfect, right near everything but still in a quite spot. Great balcony view!!

Friendly staff, speedy maintenance team, 24 hour security, garage parking, beautiful amenities to include a rooftop that’s fun to entertain friends, and electric charging stations! Had a great year and half there in one of the studios. Living downtown was also really convenient on the weekends to grab a cup of coffee, catch the train to the UofA or to have a night on the town.

We had a great living experience at Flin. The unit was comfortable in a 3 bedroom flat and had a nice view of the A mountain. We love the gym and the amenities. The location is excellent, walking distance to restaurants around downtown. Front desk staff were always helpful. The building lobby and surrounding are aesthetically beautiful. We love our stay at Flin. We highly recommend The Flin.

I was lucky enough to be the very first person to move in to The Flin. There were some issues that first day, but im sure they have been ironed out by now since the staff has more experience and the complex isn't a construction zone. The staff, especially Rose, have been very friendly and emails are answered promptly. The view from my apartment is fantastic and I love the amenities and the overall design of the complex, although I wish there was a pool. There is a huge terrace on the second floor, but only a small part of it has tables and chairs and the rest is landscaping. My main gripe with living here is the cleanliness of the complex and the rate at which it's dealt with. The trash in my photos has been sitting around for weeks. Unfortunately, there are tenants who think it's okay to
