The Elms at Oakton

I moved into the Elms in 2022 and just moved out a few weeks ago. I lived on one side of the complex for two years and the other side for one year. There are definitely some positives and negatives to living here. Be advised personnel changes happened over the past two years. For positives: The gym is well maintained and has good equipment. The office personnel are generally willing to work with you over problems. Close to highway and trails. I had no problems on the 3229 side. For negatives: When I moved into the unit on the 3205 side of the complex, there was literally spaghetti sauce on the walls and diapers left in the laundry room. It was not clean upon move in and had many stains and problems over the year. Despite this, I had a bill for over $1000 to replace the carpets upon mov

This is a nice area to live in! For commuters going into DC, this is an ideal location. There's buses that goes to the metro (yellow line), or if you're driving, this is right off the highway! Additionally, there are some nice amenities, including pool, gym, and dog park. The Oakmont rec center is nearby too. It is hard to reach management via phone call because it goes through a phone call tree and I usually have to leave a voicemail. But they're responsive when you go in-person into the office. To my pleasant surprise, they take feedback well and are willing to work things out with you. There was a small incident that left a sour taste when I first moved in, but things got resolved quickly, which really improved my thoughts towards them. I can’t say enough good things about The Elms at Oakton! The location is perfect, close to everything you need. The apartment layout is spacious and well designed which you don’t find anywhere, and maintenance is always quick to respond. Mia, Michael, Traci, and Alexis are all wonderful and helpful. You only pay base rent plus electric, trash, sewer, and water—no extra parking or hidden fees. Highly recommend!

For the past 30 days, washer broke, complete flood one time, minor flood one time. Leading to water under the floor and all they would do is to give you a dehumidifier, no replacement of flooring or redoing of dry wall either. And there was one more flood last year as well, all that shows that they are not committed truly fixing the problem but only keep patching things up
