The Colony at South Park Apartments

I loved this apartment a year ago. The staff is still very friendly and welcoming, however things have changed with the new management company. Several cars were broken into and the calls for cameras are not being heard. The entrance gate has been wrecked since the hurricane and nothing has been done to clean the unsightly mess. There is at least one huge pothole in the parking lot and another big bump that has not been fixed. Now the rents are being raised over 17 percent but things aren’t being maintained… I would like to add that my husband and I had to remove the tree branch from blocking the sidewalk as they didn’t do it when we put in a maintenance request. For the money this is one of the nicest apartment complexes in Aiken. Maintenance is amazingly quick to fix anything that goes wrong, from a leaky pipe to your kitchen appliances. Chad and Andrew are quick to show up, always polite, knowledgeable and competent. When needed, Colony South provides a weekly service with Aiken Pest Control. The complex is shaded by oaks and pine trees, a blessing during hot weather. It is adjacent to Carolina Bay, a park with walking trails and a large pond inhabited by ducks, geese, herons, turtles, and frogs for nature lovers.

Do not live here. The place is not clean and they do not seem to have any urgency to take care of it. The trash compactor is always overflowing leading to trash piling up in front of it. This is right by the main entrance that everyone sees and it smells horrible. The dog waste bins around the property, particularly right behind the pool, are rarely taken out causing poop bags to be placed on top of and all around the trash can. Also smells bad. The dog park, disgusting with dog waste everywhere. The pool area leading up to its closure for the season was gross. The water was a yellow/green and had tons of debris in it at all times. Very quick responses to requests for maintenance service to check and correct minor or major plumbing issues. They accept pets. Nice little dog park. I just moved back here in March after I had gone back to NJ for two years. I am happy that they had an apartment available for me. I love living here. Great community. Local shopping areas within 2 miles or less for grocery shopping, wonderful restaurants, Doctors, Dentists, Veterinarians, Horse Stables, nice racetrack and beautiful parks.

Hi been here a little over 2yrs now and I must say I enjoy it , and also having Chad makes it a lot better any issues I have he always responds on the same day and fix the issues .
