The Colony at Chews Landing Apartment Homes

Management has greatly improved...so has rating.. still can't get my apartment painted after 9 years.... still a wonderful place to live. Steve, Terry and Todd have a great relationship with tenants.

Nice small Community of 55+ residents. I've been living here 7 years. AC issue addressed promptly and professionally by staff maintenance (Steve--a gem!) and outside contractor. Current management team addresses issues promptly and courteously. Owners could and SHOULD address routine issues...eg...carpets in common areas DESPERATELY need replacing--complex is 10+ years old). Treeline areas need to be addressed (fallen trees, heavy weed growth). This is NOT a good reflection on The Colony owners. Overall nice place to call home!

Residents should not invite delivery drivers inside their unit to drop off groceries. Disabled or not it is not the driver’s job to make sure your groceries make it to your counter. Groceries will be left outside the door to your unit. A man on an electric scooter made me feel very uncomfortable here. On top of it he removed his tip of $2.68. I hope he sees my review so he 1. won’t invite delivery drivers inside his unit and 2. only tip what he can afford.

Very nice looking apartment however the wall are very thin, you can hear much of your neighbors movements. This complex is listed and promoted as 55 and over however there are a lot of small children, mostly well behaved but you will find them from time to time running and playing in the hallways outside your apartment. There are several very high monthly charges that are added to your rent. Each month you will get a post card charging you additional fees for water , trash and electrical these cost are very high up words of $90 more each month. The other tenants are very nice most people here are new, the longest tenant I met so far has been here 3 years, She stated “ most people don’t say more than there 1 year lease” I have only lived here for 6 months and have seen 3 different property

I was only getting cold water in my shower. When I reported the issue it was addressed in a timely manner. What I did not understand was why I had to wait to go through a process in order to have the part purchased. I would think thhe maintenance department would have an operating budget.
