The building has greatly declined since I moved in in 2023. Extra fees are added to our monthly bill without informing tenants. Trash is overrun in the hallway leaving a lingering smell of trash. The building has a no smoking policy in the lease, but when tenants complain about 2nd hand smoke entering the apartments through the air vents management did little to nothing to assist. There are 2 elevators in the building and one hasn’t been operable for over a year and a half. And the working elevator hasn’t been properly inspected since 2024. Most concerning, when current management is informed of the tenants concerns for health and safety it is common for management to reply with a statement implying to just move out. The residents are nice and friendly, and all of the staff is phenomenal and awesome — especially MS. MERCY. She was the first person I met here when I came to view the apartment, and from that day to this one, she has been very professional, polite, and just remarkable. Good luck getting back your security deposit. Blackstone management failed to return my security deposit within California's legal timeframe of 21 days. After two months, I sent a formal demand letter. Management ignored it for nine days then claimed they had already mailed it. Another week passed with no response or refund. When I again threatened a lawsuit, the money was sent electronically--something they apparently knew how to do all along. They attempted to rewrite the record by calling the payment a "courtesy" to replace the check they’d supposedly sent; however, they charged themselves a "Late SD Return" fee to cancel out my utility charges and cleaning fee. I am in love with my apartment and beautiful view! I can’t describe to you how easy the application and move in process was. My apartment is beautiful, the people here are great and the staff are so helpful and quick. What more can a girl ask for!!

I live in this beautiful historic property that has been completely run down by the slumlords who own and operate it. I feel bad for the front desk staff who are forced to deal with the higher ups who don't know what they are doing and don't care. Every month my rent fluctuates due to "livable" charges and inexplicable fees, they arbitrarily send tactical letters to scare tenants, so beware of that. Just an update, after I filed a complaint the landlord, Kerri retaliated by serving me a notice of a rent increase over $300/ month. Don't let the good reviews fool you- any decent review about his building is falsely made by a manager or someone that does not live in the building.
