Tanglewood Apartments

Thank you SanJuanita and Chris for always doing what you could for our home. You guys have been apart of me and my daughter’s life for many years here. I truly am going to miss you. I lived in this complex for nearly a decade, and it has changed management more times than I can recall. When HM Equity took over, it got to the point where several residents including myself found the need to leave. I had reported a list of issues immediately after Hurricane Harvey which the previous management apparently threw out, and then submitted the same list to the current management at least 4 times over 9 months before they finally began fixing some of the issues such as a leak that was beginning to cause water damage. Each time I asked about the status of my repairs, they said they had no idea what I was talking about and had no record of me requesting anything. Avoid this apartment at all costs. Although the rent looks not expensive, there are a lot of hidden fees, so it's not inexpensive at all. The worst part is the maintenance. I had an issue with AC in the middle of August and it took two weeks for them to check it. I talked to the manager 5 times during that time, but they never did anything for 2 weeks. I started having the same issue with AC about 4 weeks ago (mid September. the weather has been still pretty hot). I talked to the manager a multiple times, they didn’t do anything. My shower faucet has been broken for 2 months, they still didn't fix it. Meanwhile, when someone moves out, they start working on the unit right away to get a new tenant. I lived here for over 8 years. It was my home. But with each new change in hands the management grew worse. At one point I had hundreds of bats living in my walls, the smell was so atrocious I couldn't run my air conditioner for 3 months because it was clogged with their stench. I have video, email me if you'd like me to send it to you. In my final days of living in that rotten hovel my rent was raised by $100 without any warning of any kind. I was just expected to pay it. After much arguing they asked me to bring in check receipts to prove what I was actually paying for rent. They couldn't even find a file on me after living there for 8 years! I have been in these apartments for about 4 months already. It took them forever to even let us love in when we were suppose to which was in March of 2020. We didn’t even move in until may. Cause they took their sweet time finishing the apartment. Which wasn’t even done. The front door was missing the top lock, which it’s suppose to have because yoire not suppose to sell an apartment without one. The light in the kitchen doesn’t even turn on half the time, we have to sit there and keep trying to get it to stay on. And the dining room light and balcony light is connected together. So when you turn on the dining room light. The balcony one comes on with it. And sink has been leaking since we moved in. It’s missing a part and we have to put foil just to keep the water from coming out. Also th
