Summer Wood Apartment Homes

I have been a tenant at Summerwood Townhomes for the past 4 1/2 yrs and have certainly enjoyed my stay here. The manage, Amanda has been attentive to all of my needs and concerns since day 1. Summerwood Townhomes is a great place to live! 😊

I recently had to come pick up packages from my old address here, and Amanda is so wonderful. She was also a big help when I moved in and out. I lived here for two years, and the repair men were kind and worked fast. Site management (Amanda) has always been so kind, and helpful.

Quite place to live. I like the conditions of units. Spectacular atmosphere! Mrs Owen’s the property manager is an asset to the company that owns the townhomes. Mrs. Owen’s is a very nice lady and solves problems fast before they become a liability for the owner or owners of townhomes. Maintenance is fast to fix problems and they do it right the first time. Great staff! I use to live at field crest apartments had water damage 5 times and became severely ill from mold that could have been prevented. At Summer Wood apartments my a/c had a minor problem that caused water to leak. I was preparing to buy products to prevent mold growth but the maintenance man as a standard practice sprays a product to prevent any mold growth. Do yourself a favor and Don’t bother looking at Summer Wood Apartment Homes. Extremely poor management, run down building and all appliances (kitchen and bathrooms) are broken down. The owners are trying to squeeze every dollar from tenants and are stingy on renovations and upgrades. Entire house smells like cigarette smoke and when I moved in I found a cigarette butt squished into the corner of one of the window tracks. I moved out early and was asked to pay $2900 out of pocket plus lost my security deposit of $300. Had to pay any damage charges out of pocket (but because I kept the place clean we weren’t charged). I gave my 60 day notice in January, and they are making me pay for utilities all the way in MARCH!!! I haven’t lived in the complex since middle of January and my 60 day

I've lived here for a year and loved it. The townhomes are cozy and the location is close to everything in Dothan. Lawns/bushes are well kept. Pest control is interior one month/exterior the next. One major difference in this place versus other apartments/rentals is that they don't make unannounced visits - quarterly checks are posted by letter so you know when to expect them. I haven't run into any major issues during my stay. The only time I've had to call them was during a move-in installation issue, and they came out within the hour. Amanda Owens is one of the best property managers I've dealt with in a rental. Only reason I'm leaving is to save and buy a home!
