Somerset Apartments

I lived here for years. The manager Laura was very rude, catty, and I felt like we were targeted. But I will be honest. My male partner was very abusive and not a good person at all, did not abide by their parking rules and had a record with their other property for doing the same to his ex girlfriend I found out. And I wonder if it was literally because she doesn't tolerate misogynistic men. Thus why I gave three stars, because no one needs to tolerate that. It was a good apartment overall then.

Management is extremely unprofessional, rude, and they don’t care to help you. Had mice in a top floor apartment, and didn’t receive any help from management and had to get rid of them myself. AC unit was broken in the summer, they fixed it weeks later after I had to remind them, but turned it off again without notifying me when the downstairs neighbor thought the new HVAC unit was “too loud”. So many other issues. Wouldn’t live here again.

The location is the only thing that would get a 5 star rating. I can walk to the grocery store, and even work if I wanted to. The advertisement seen from Boardwalk states “resort” style living, meaning last resort. The apartment comes with a Fireplace to build a raging fire in, but now after a recent fire candles have been banned?!? I have had the heating and cooling people in our apartment every month for no A/C, the A/C not turning off, No heat and the heat not turning off. I have had numerous inspection notices for the HVAC unit which I am starting to believe is a ploy to get in your apartment and just inspect the “state of the apartment.” When the A/C didn’t turn off the unit was dripping water on the floor, the HVAC people then took to cutting huge holes in the ceiling. Me and my fiancé lived here for over 2 years and honestly have nothing negative to say about this place! We never heard our neighbors unless our patio doors were open and even then it was not to a level of annoying us. The location is very ideal since there is a lovely park up against the apartments and very mature beautiful trees surrounding the complex. It is probably about 2 minutes from the mall in foco and only 10 minutes from downtown Fort Collins. If you don't want to drive that far, there is still plenty of restaurants and shop only a few minutes away. The only downside is the apartments themselves are a very outdated, but the staff is very responsive if you have an issue with anything and they are very kind. We renewed our lease twice and they only raised the rent a total of $75/

My husband and I have lived here for quite awhile. It’s quiet, safe, and a great location. We love the park next door for our dog to run and play in. I hardly ever hear my neighbors or anyone really. Laura and the office staff have always been kind and professional to us, it sounds like some people just weren’t following lease rules in some of these reviews. Maintenance staff is kind and professional as well, and once even gave my husband a ride to work after car troubles, and are respectful when inside your unit fixing something. The only cons are that yes some of the appliances are out dated and the units are a little old too, so I definitely wouldn’t call it “luxury” but that’s never been much of a problem for us, and when our old microwave went out they replaced it immediately.
