Shawnee Village Apartments

I have a Family member that currently rents an apartment from Shawnee Village Apartments & based upon information & belief & multiple observations, I strongly advise against renting from the above low income residential property here in Marion, Illinois. 1. There is reason to believe that a few Tenants are dealing in illegal drugs . 2. One can say that that , property isn't SAFE to live in . 3. One can say that a few freedom of information act request letters will be forthcoming, to request sensitive financial disclosure documents and reports , audit documents, performance reports etc... 4. One can also say that the forecast calls for multiple lawsuits including Injunctive relief likely will be filed in the near future . Perhaps there " Grant Manager " can yield some further insights e

WARNING!!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!! Long Review, Sorry Me and my husband moved in May 2024 and there were already problems from us before even moving in and they had told us that they were going to fix everything that was damaged from the previous tenant. When we went in to do a deep clean of the place, nothing was fixed. There was a hole in the ceiling and the floor, the air conditioner did not work and was leaking onto the floor and outside on the balcony, and there were cockroaches even though they told us they were going to have an exterminator come in to bomb and get rid of them. Also, they had told me that I could not have my husband staying the night with me if he wasn’t on the lease, which we were not married at the time and he had worked in Kentucky so he didn’t want to drive fr

This apartment complex is wonderful! The units are modern, spacious, and impeccably clean with great vibes. The staff is incredibly friendly, understanding, and always going the extra mile to address any concerns. This community is quiet and well-maintaied, and the amenities are great. I truly feel like I'm living in a home, and not just an apartment. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to live.

I have lived here for only a year and half and what I witnessed has been a shocker! This includes the great amount trash around all the dumpster areas, the roach infestation and the violence, however the current staff is absolutely wonderful and are addressing all issues quickly. Amanda comes down when she able and she helps Mariah when she is here, when I see Mariah out with notices on all the apts, she looks so very tired and she working a 3 person job and I do not think that is fair, she keeps the office in gear and makes sure everything is running smoothly, she deserve to be management and hire a receptionist that will work with her, not against her, Ronnie our maintenance supervisor works tirelessly around all the property, he has not had help for months and myself and many residents

Nasty , has cockroaches, looks nicer when you look at it but after you rent it then you actually see how nasty dirty it is , couldn’t live there , they don’t keep it painted or updated and they say they spray but I couldn’t move into a place that has cockroaches and I have plenty of pictures of them ! Terrible for senior citizens to live like that , some of the people need to be in a nursing home or assisted living. Manager is aware of the problem but never does anything about it . The whole place needs cleaned up painted and tented to get rid of the bugs ! Disgusting !!!
