Shaker-Moreland Apartments

This place is a nightmare!!!! It’s the worse apartment I have ever lived in. Only reason I signed was because I was in a time crunch for my job that I accepted out here and had to sign somewhere. I should have just lived out of a hotel while I looked for a good place. First the maintenance is a joke, they don’t fix anything. They rather flirt and ask for numbers than fix anything in ur apartment. I have never lived with roaches in my life and this place makes me want to sell all my stuff and start new. They said they were going to fix the issue but all pest control does is come in and check roach traps. They don’t actually treat each apartment and the hallways. I'm new to the property, so I can't comment on much yet, but so far my experience has been great! I was in a hurry to find a new place to live after my old apartment mgmt company decided to double our rent, with only giving us about 40 days notice! I sent inquires literally EVERYWHERE and did a ton of tours. I dealt with Mimi at this property and it was wonderful. She treated me like a person, instead of just numbers on paper. I couldn't appreciate her more! The application process was easy, communication was thorough, and im really excited about my new spot!

Let me just say I love my place but most of all this place is quiet the building stays clean and the management is the best!! Especially Mimi she is very understanding and considerate.its not enough people in this world like her💜Finally I find a place that ppl aren’t trying to just make money but honestly they care. They are so awesome 💜 this place is such a blessing to me 🙏

The new owners are 100 times worst than the previous owners. They rarely clean the smelly hallway, the garbage just piles up. I’m embarrassed when I have company. There’s dead roaches and trash in the hallway. My friends ask, “How much are you paying for this place?” The garage door has been broken since December 2024. They won’t fix the door, resulting in 9 cars being broken into. Although the building has a bad roach problem, they won’t exterminate. I don’t understand their logic. They could buy a spray can and bug spray from Home Depot. It’s like I’m living in the projects, but I’m paying way more.

Roaches,mice,no heat,no laundry,low water pressure to no water, security issues, Incompetent & indifferent management. If you can, move out now like I'm doing. Moving without heat sucks but guess what the place I'm moving to has? HEAT.
